Re-Elect
Sheriff of Beaver County, Utah
About Cody
Cody Black has served with the Beaver County Sheriff's Office for 32 years — beginning as a patrol deputy in 1994 and working his way through every rank: Patrol Corporal, Sergeant, SWAT Commander, Chief Deputy, and now Sheriff.
Throughout his career he has worked patrol, investigations, narcotics, corrections, and tactical operations, while also supervising dispatch, jail operations, search and rescue, school resource officers, and victim services.
Cody was raised in a hardworking family that taught him accountability, respect, and service. His wife and children have lived this career alongside him — through the long nights, tough cases, and difficult decisions. Serving as Sheriff isn't just his job — it's something his entire family has supported and sacrificed for.
Platform
Cody's platform is built on the values that define Beaver County — the county he holds dear — and the communities that contribute to its remarkable character.
The Sheriff is the only law enforcement official elected directly by the people. Cody will stand firmly against government overreach while preserving local authority and defending the constitutional rights of every Beaver County citizen.
Being Sheriff means being present and engaged — at the grocery store, at community events, at school activities. Cody has spent three decades building the trust that makes Beaver County a safe place to live and raise a family.
“I didn’t take this position to sit on the bench.”
Cody strengthened the Sheriff's Office Victim Advocate program and serves on the 5th District Victim Rights Board — because public safety isn't just about arrests, it's about standing up for those who have been harmed.
Cody rejoined a multi-jurisdictional task force, giving Beaver County access to advanced investigative tools, forensic resources, and partnerships that rural counties could not otherwise afford on their own.
Before mandates required it, Cody expanded deputy presence in schools and added a second School Resource Officer — because our kids should know their deputies and trust them before a crisis ever occurs.
Cody supports competitive wages so local law enforcement families can thrive and so Beaver County can attract and retain the best officers to serve our community. He is also committed to putting in place mental health resources and well-being tools for first responders — because those who serve our community deserve to be taken care of too.

Endorsements
Beaver County you are lucky to have Cody as your sheriff. I absolutely endorse him and support him in this role.
First, I want everyone to know I don't have a vote in this fight because unfortunately I don't live in Beaver County. Having said that, I have been in law enforcement for 13 years in a neighboring county. I have held positions that have put me in a position to directly work with Beaver County and Sheriff Black.
Being a second generation police officer I have never seen a greater "working" sheriff than Sheriff Black. I have watched him first hand being directly involved taking people into custody, working side by side with his deputies and not afraid to get into the middle of a bad call with his guys and myself.
Having seen and been around all kinds of leadership, I would want no one more to be my sheriff than Sheriff Black. I don't know all the small town politics, but what I can tell the residents of Beaver County, is that they have an amazing leader amongst the men and women of your law enforcement. Beaver County is a safer place with him being your sheriff.
I can also say with a fact that he cares deeply for all residents of Beaver County — those with him and those against him. I love this man and am grateful to have the chance to work with him as much as I have. I respect him even more that he has kept quiet through this race so far, until his family and things outside of being a Sheriff were being attacked.
Beaver County you are lucky to have Cody as your sheriff. I absolutely endorse him and support him in this role.
I am proud to call Sheriff Black both a trusted colleague and friend. I would be honored to endorse Sheriff Black for re-election.
I have worked with Sheriff Black for the past 24 years, beginning as fellow deputies in neighboring counties. At the time of my retirement, Cody was serving as the Sheriff of Beaver County, while I held the position of Task Force Commander for the Iron, Garfield, and Beaver Narcotics Task Force. During that time, I had the privilege of working alongside what I believe to be some of the state's top law enforcement leaders.
One of the things that impressed me most about Cody was his hands-on approach to leadership. As Undersheriff, he was always actively involved in addressing issues within Beaver County, and that commitment never changed after he became Sheriff.
It was not uncommon to receive a call from Sheriff Black at 1:00 a.m. while he was actively dealing with a serious issue. He was never looking to put problems off or pass them on to someone else — he was focused on addressing them head-on and bringing in the necessary resources to get the job done. Having leadership like that in a community is invaluable.
I had the opportunity to work cases that began in Beaver County and resulted in arrests across multiple counties in Utah, as well as in Nevada and California. Sheriff Black never focused solely on the immediate issue; he always looked at the bigger picture. More importantly, he remained involved from start to finish.
I am proud to call Sheriff Black both a trusted colleague and friend. I would be honored to endorse Sheriff Black for re-election.
